Futures contract ticker codes are an abbreviated form of naming futures contracts with their respective contract month and year. Contract ticker codes can sometimes be confusing as different Exchanges and different platforms use their own unique conventions. However, there is a generally accepted convention to follow the order by using the ticker symbol followed by the delivery or expiration month and then the year.
To construct the ticker code, add the delivery month code after the ticker symbol then follow with the two-digit year; TICKER SYMBOL /DELIVERY MONTH CODE/ 2 DIGIT YEAR. The ticker symbol for Bursa Malaysia Derivatives (BMD) contract can be found in their respective contract specifications.
Examples: For BMD Crude Palm Oil Futures January 2022 contract, the contract ticker code would be FCPO then F then 22; FCPOF22.
